Text/Call Center Management
Many organizations are struggling with how to incorporate the new FCC Text 2 988 Suicide Prevention program with limited call center resources. At Text 2 Stop It! we have been the leader in crisis text communication since 2013 through our partnerships with organizations like yours. Our text/call center can manage the initial request for help and, when appropriate, route these texts to your organization for professional follow-up.
How Does it Work?
- When a person text, calls or reaches out to Text 2 988 through online chat, they are greeted with a friendly voice from a Text 2 Stop It! operator.
- We will first asked questions to ensure that the person is not at risk of self-harm.
- If the person is in imminent danger of self-harm, we will either encourage the person to help or we will intervene if the situation dictates.
- Following the assurance that self-harm is not imminent we will move forward with discussions to bring the person to a less stressful place. All operators are trained under the Mental Health First Aid Program. Our goal is to de-escalate the situation and encourage the person toward self or professional help.
- We will refer or send the person information, brochures, or links to designated help resources.
